'Why are the pages so filled with so many words?': Gen Z reader gets 34 pages into young adult novel, complains that it's too difficult to read

We live in a world where literacy remains one of the most powerful and necessary skills that we can ever acquire but boy, does it sometimes seem like people don't take it seriously sometimes. While this is kind of to be expected by those who claim to hate reading, the joys of content creator niches have also exposed us all to the fact that many self-proclaimed book lovers don't feel so differently, either.

One Booktoker caused controversy recently when she took to the clock app to complain about a novel that her viewers had recommended to her. She claimed that 34 pages in, the young adult fantasy book Six of Crows was exceedingly difficult to read, suggesting that there were too many words on each page and that the maps accompanying the novel were confusing. It didn't take long for her to get thoroughly roasted for her opinion, although a minority came to her defense. Maybe almost exclusively reading Colleen Hoover does bad things to you.
